Mike The Annoying Weekend Guy has been irritating KY listeners for 14 painful years. A fan of the station ever since moving to Kansas City, he found himself in the incredibly lucky position of jocking for KY for the first time in January of 1993. Mike has been a music fan most of his life, and has a head full of obscure and interesting rock and roll info. So if you have a question about a song, band, or artist, feel free to call him at 576-7997 on Saturday, Sunday, or whenever he's sitting in for one of the other jocks and destroying their time slot.
Birthday: March 29
Birthplace: New Orleans
Family: Mom & Dad are in Florida. I have 3 sisters and a brother, all in Denver: Meghan, Melissa, Molly, and Matthew. And growing up we had two dogs named Murphy and Midas. Yes, I know. A disturbing pattern.
Marital Status: Released from custody for almost 12 years.
Places I've Lived: Dallas, Dayton, Columbus, Denver, and of course KC in the Free & Independent State Of North Of The River.
First Concert: The Rolling Stones, Folsom Field, Boulder Colorado, summer of '78.
Favorite Bands: The Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, CCR. Also a big fan of Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe.
Favorite Beer: Boulevard Wheat. Gotta support the hometown brew.
Favorite Sport: Hockey, hockey, hockey! I've already lit a few church candles hoping we get a team in the Sprint Center.
Hobbies: Reading while driving, hiking and camping, fishing, maintaining Favorite Uncle status with my 4 nieces and 2 nephews, and annoying radio listeners all over KC.
Places I've Been: I love to travel. I try to get to Vegas every couple of years. I've been to Mexico, London, Paris, and Amsterdam. And I just spent two incredible weeks in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Favorite Rockers I've Met: Joe Walsh, the guy is a riot. Ted Nugent is a blast every time he's in town. Melissa Etheridge, a really nice person. And Steve Miller was also very cool and down to earth. I even saw him helping the roadies load gear onto a truck after a show! And my eternal thanks to the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar, who taught me all about really good tequila back in my rookie days.
Favorite Hangout: Minsky's at Barry Road & I-29. Best pizza in town, a ton of big screens, and Julie is the best bartender in Kansas City.
Quote: I think the vast majority of people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people in this country are fed up with being sick and tired. I'm certainly not, and I'm sick and tired of being told that I am.
